Ramblewood's quiet, narrow streets are ideal for people who want the convenience of big city amenities without sacrificing a secluded home life. “Ramblewood is one of those great little neighborhoods that has well-built homes with easy maintenance in mind,” says Melvin Knight, a longtime Baltimore resident and Realtor with Coldwell Banker. The neighborhood is jam-packed with rowhomes situated between two local parks, a major hospital and shopping hubs. “You’re right near the very popular Belvedere Square, which has a lot of shops and restaurants, social activities on the weekend and The Senator Theatre, which has been a neighborhood staple for a long time,” says Jen Ward, a Realtor with Cummings & Co. Realtors, who has been selling in Baltimore for 16 years.
Rowhouses perched on small, grassy banks
Ramblewood’s rowhomes feature red-brick facades, with short-roofed front porches or decorative metal awnings. The houses are perched on small banks, several feet from the sidewalk-lined streets, and feature terraced stairways leading up to the entryways. “There have been a lot of recent renovations throughout the area, which have made it more appealing,” Ward says. Prices start at $135,000 and can climb to $280,000. Driveways are a rarity in Ramblewood. Instead, people park along the slender streets or under the shade of trees dotted around the neighborhood.

Food hall-style square and a mainstay vintage theatre
Walkability to everyday essentials is an added bonus for Ramblewood residents. A small shopping center off The Alameda includes a Shoppers Food Warehouse grocery store, a Family Dollar, Planet Fitness and Bank of America. Nearby, Colin’s Seafood and Grill is a fast-casual option, while Belvedere Square is an expansive market with options for nearly every taste. Pick up a coffee and sandwich at Atwater’s, or go all-in on a lobster roll from Mason’s. Those with a sweet tooth might want to stop by Prigel Family Farm or The Confetti Cake Bar. Locals also head next door to catch the latest blockbusters or classic films at The Senator Theatre, a Baltimore mainstay since 1939 with a vintage art deco design. “You’re also not far from Towson, which has several grocery stores, a Target, Walmart, Marshalls and things like that,” Ward says. Additional chain stores at the Towson Town Center, like Macy’s and Nordstrom, are less than 4 miles away.

Summer Sounds at the Square
Locals look forward to Summer Sounds at the Square, held at Belvedere Square from the end of May through early September. “It’s usually held on a Friday night, and part of the market shuts down for it,” Ward says. “There’s music, and a lot of the vendors and shops from the market are there, so it’s a really good place for people in the neighborhood to come together.”
