About Bowling Green, OH

About Bowling Green, OH

Northwest Ohio, home of the Falcons

Most notable for its association with Bowling Green State University, this college town located 20 miles outside Toledo got its start when locals struck oil in the late 19th century. Named after its counterpart in Kentucky, Bowling Green, Ohio, flourishes with college spirit and rural culture. Rebecca O’Hare, office assistant at the Bowling Green Chamber of Commerce says, “BGSU is a huge draw for the city, but the true charm is found in Bowling Green’s community events, small-town feel and endless opportunities.” A prime spot for commuters, young professionals and Falcons fans, Bowling Green’s 30,000 residents refer to their community affectionately as BG. The community also stands out for its strong school district, college sporting events and attractions like the annual National Tractor Pulling Championship.
