West Bozeman was developed with green space in mind, and Flanders Creek has three parks within walking distance. Flanders Creek Park and Traditions Park have access to a small pond, and are are in the heart of the neighborhood. Boulder Creek Park is another popular green space with a stream that's less than half a mile from most homes in the neighborhood. For access to more water, people head to The Lakes at Valley West, which are next to the neighborhood. Athletes can also play soccer at the Adam Bronken Soccer Complex, which is well known for its soccer tournaments and is next to the neighborhood. The Gallatin County Regional Park is the biggest in the area at 87 acres. It has a pair of small lakes, running trails and playgrounds for the kids. It's about a mile from the neighborhood.

Schools within walking distance
Flanders Creek is served by Bozeman Public Schools, which has an A rating on Niche. Meadowlark Elementary School and Chief Joseph Middle School both have A-minus ratings. Meadowlark Elementary is half a mile from the neighborhood, and some students choose to walk or ride bikes to school. Gallatin High School has a B-plus rating and has active basketball, football and track teams, and is next door to Flanders Creek.

Flanders Creek is mainly made up of duplexes, townhomes and condos, most of which were built within the last 10 to 15 years. Lots tend to be less than half an acre, the streets are lined with sidewalks, and cars are parked in the driveways around the neighborhood. The streets in Flanders Creek are often quiet in the middle of the day, and after work, people spend their time outside in their grassy yards. Homes range in price from $500,000 to $800,000.

Within five miles of all the shopping in Bozeman
Flanders Creek residents are about 15 minutes from most of Bozeman’s shopping and dining areas. “There’s a joke in Bozeman, that you’re about 15 minutes from anything in the west side of town,” says Martello. The Gallatin Regional Mall, 3 miles south, is the go-to for shopping trips on the west side of town. Macy’s, GameStop and Tradehome Shoes are just a few of the shops in the mall. There’s also a Whole Foods Market next door. For dining, people head to Sidewinders for burgers, Tanglewood for beers, or The Merry Piglets Mexican Grill, all 2 miles away. Target and Costco are also about 3 miles north of the neighborhood. Downtown Bozeman is about 4 miles away, but it is less frequented by people in West Bozeman, who prefer their quiet side of town to the hustle and bustle of Main Street, with it's nightlife at bars like Plonk and 1864. “It’s more of somewhere you’d go if you wanted a night out,” says Hanson.
