Kenfield's narrow, gridded streets primarily feature older American Foursquares and bungalow-style homes constructed in the early 20th century, though apartments and townhouses are also common. Homes in Kenfield usually spend three to four weeks on the market before being sold. "Years ago, before the medical campus was there, homes would be worth anywhere between $20,000 and $60,000. People were going there, acquiring properties, flipping and holding, and when the market was phenomenal, there were people purchasing homes just under $200,000," Smith says. "Historically, that side of Buffalo has not gone through that."
