Canyon Crest is a charming neighborhood between Downtown Riverside and the Sycamore Canyon. Six separate land annexations created the community during the second half of the 20th century. Successful athletic programs in the Riverside Unified School District
Canyon Crest is served by the Riverside Unified School District, attending primary schools like Castle View Elementary from kindergarten through sixth grade. Students move on to intermediate and secondary schools like Matthew Gage Middle and Polytechnic High School. The latter high school is the oldest in the entire city and has graduated musicians like Glenn Ross Campbell and athletes for MLB teams such as the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Milwaukee Brewers.
