The Farm-Arapahoe, with its parks, trails, pools and tennis courts, is a great community for those seeking access to outdoor recreation within their neighborhood. Only half a mile from nearby shopping centers, residents can find everything they need just a short drive away. According to Daniel Gurzhiev, a Realtor with Fixed Rate Real Estate, “This community is desirable because it feeds into one of the top school districts in the state. It’s a large neighborhood with many families in a location with easy access to highways, shopping and dining.”
Homes here sit on tree-lined streets with well-maintained sidewalks and an array of parks and green spaces. Housing ranges from modern town homes to spacious single-family properties. “The community is built on nice, wide roads with plenty of space for kids to be outside,” says Gurzhiev. Single-family homes exhibit various architectural styles ranging from colonial to ranch to contemporary, go for a median price of $745,000 and often feature well-tended gardens and welcoming front porches or back patios. Town homes provide a more compact and convenient living arrangement for those seeking a lower-maintenance or more affordable lifestyle.
Students here are zoned for the Cherry Creek School District and can attend Fox Hollow Elementary School before moving to Fallon Creek Middle School. Both schools receive an A-minus from Niche. Then, they’ll finish their academic journey at Grandview High School, which Niche gives an A-plus. “This is one of the best school districts in the state,” says Gurzhiev. “People move to this neighborhood so their children can attend those schools.” The high school offers 30 Advanced Placement classes, and, for students taking Chinese, there’s an option to take an immersion trip to China.
After school, take the kids to Central Park at the Farm, which—you guessed it—sits in the center of residential streets and is within walking distance from some homes in the neighborhood. There are two playgrounds here. The first, for younger kids, features small obstacles and a merry-go-round, while older kids can chase each other up and down a giant rope climbing structure on their playground. Parents can challenge each other to a game of pickleball or tennis on one of the courts or relax in the large grass field. Get a workout in at The Trails Recreation Center, about 2 miles north of the neighborhood, which offers various recreation and leisure activities for families, older adults and anyone seeking exciting fitness opportunities. At 78,000 square feet, this facility has a gym, lap and leisure pools, a lazy river, a hot tub, a sauna and a steam room. There is also a community pool, which is walkable from some homes and accessible to anyone via the trail system that runs throughout the neighborhood.
Also close by is Cherry Creek State Park, which includes 880 acres of prairie and wetland environments and is a great spot to walk your dog or go for a run. At its center, there’s a reservoir that also houses powerboats, sailboats and paddle craft. Play a round of golf at Saddle Rock Golf Course, about 2 miles west of the neighborhood. This high-plain, links-style course is a preferred spot for a high-end golf experience in the Denver metro area. There’s also a restaurant here where members can take in a panoramic view of the Rockies while enjoying their meal.
About half a mile east of the neighborhood, various shopping centers ensure locals can get everything they need right off their street. All along East Smoky Hill Road, you’ll find Chipotle, McDonald’s, Starbucks and various other fast-casual dining options. There’s also a movie theatre here for rainy-day entertainment. Multiple gas stations, banks, ATMs and a UPS store ensure quick errands are a breeze. Grab groceries at Sprouts Farmers Market or King Soopers, next to each other. If you don’t feel like cooking at home, stop by Olive Branch Grill on South Parker Road. This Mediterranean restaurant is a local favorite for both dine-in and takeout.
To travel outside the neighborhood, hop on East Smoky Hill Road, and you can be on the interstate in minutes. Interstate 25 will take you 25 miles north to Denver and, to the south, about 65 miles into Colorado Springs.
