Premier urban living in Century City

Sleek high rises and bustling commercial centers define the landscape of Century City. The neighborhood was once a backlot for the studios of 20th Century Fox before being repurposed by the company’s president for real estate development. Construction began in the early 1960s and continued well into the early 2000s, while movie studios continued to contribute to the area’s economy. Major businesses and quality retailers have also made a home in Century City’s high rises and thoroughfares, earning it the nickname “the city within a city.” Century City residents live in luxury condominiums and houses a short walk from offices and stores and are within 15 miles of downtown Los Angeles.

Shopping and dining at Westfield Century City

Recognized as the area’s landmark, Westfield Century City is a prominent shopping plaza in the city. The sprawling outdoor shopping center received $1 billion for renovation in recent years and has become an epicenter of entertainment and shopping in Los Angeles. Close to 200 stores are spread over nearly 1.3 million square feet of open-air walkways, the venue is home to a three-story Bloomingdale’s and other well-known brands like Apple and Levi’s. Visit the bakeries and restaurants at Eataly, an Italian market and eatery where chefs serve fresh dishes like Neapolitan pizza and al dente pasta. Javier’s is a popular cantina with outdoor patio seating, offering creative seafood dishes with Mexican flavors and a distinguished selection of rare tequilas. The center also has a dine-in AMC movie theater for movie nights. Several boutique grocery stores are also available within Westfield. However, regional chains like Ralphs are nearby for everyday grocery stops, and big-box retailers such as Target are located in Beverly Hills.

Luxury condominiums take dominance in Century City's landscape

Century City’s residential landscape is split between luxury single-family houses on the west side and high-rise luxury condominiums and duplexes spread throughout the neighborhood. Homes feature a range of ornate architectural stylings from the storybook details of the English Tudor style to the sleek and modern sensibilities of mid-century modern and contemporary styles. Most of these homes have ample garage space, with patios and yards perfect for alfresco socials or cultivating a vegetable garden or flowerbed. Residents in this part of Century City live along mildly hilly streets and flat avenues fringed with leafy trees and brush. House prices for this area range from $1.6 million to $2 million for 2,000 square feet ranch-style or Craftsman cottage, and $2 million to $5 million for a larger 3,000 to 4,000 square feet Contemporary or Mediterranean Revival villa. Large windows and spacious interiors take advantage of the California sunshine, and residents enjoy modern amenities such as pools, fitness centers and concierge services. One-bedroom units are around $650,000, and two-bedrooms under 2,000 square feet can be between $700,000 and $1.5 million, with larger units fetching $4 million. Great place to live, No riff raff around here. With CAA being so close there are a lot of young up and coming celebrities and the whole place has a homely feel about it.
