Newcomers to Becton Park may have to choose between modern New Traditional builds, spacious ranch-style homes and comfy condos, but convenience is something everyone enjoys. Thanks to Albemarle Road, residents aren’t only in the immediate vicinity of multiple retailers and family-owned restaurants and, but they’re also a straight shot away to Uptown Charlotte. Or, they can stay closer to home, taking strolls down neighborhood sidewalks to admire the community’s many mature trees and lush wetlands. “You feel like you’re in a rural area, but you’re really close to everything,” says Trena Miller, a Realtor with Carolina Realty LINX who has been selling properties for 20 years.

Home prices are inexpensive for Charlotte
Becton Park’s most established homes follow brick, ranch-style designs and come from the 1970s. Here, lots often span above a quarter of an acre, sometimes nearing a full acre. There are plenty of builds from the 2000s into the 2020s as well, usually with New Traditional designs, smaller lots and built-in, first-floor garages. These houses can usually be found in the centrally located Apple Gate subdivision. Becton Park also offers several condominium communities such as Brandywine, all of which give residents easy access to Albemarle Road. “The condo complex units sell quickly. If one comes available, it sells within two months,” says Alysia Austin, a real estate agent with Highscapes Properties who has been selling properties for 16 years. But sometimes, units can be sold within a few days. While the Apple Gate subdivision offers sidewalks, they’re less common in more established neighborhoods. Mature trees and quiet streets are prevalent throughout Becton Park. Condos tend to sell for between $180,000 and $200,000. Single-family residences have a price range of $250,000 to $380,000, well under Charlotte’s median home value of about $500,000.

The majority of the local businesses in this area seem average. Those that fill a niche in the economy seem to be making a name for themselves, slowly, but surely. The larger businesses, such as retail giants Walmart, Lowes, and Kohls, seem quite successful in their business, despite a lower level of quality in certain regards. The companies that focus on quality customer service will prevail and be successful.

I've lived here for 17 years of my life and I love it. I met my bestest friends living in this neighborhood. We have so much stores, food places, and gas stations near us within a 5 minute range and it is very convenient for me. I would be really sad when I leave this neighborhood.
