Pawtuckett's streets are lined with late-1900s split-level and ranch-style homes, as well as some vinyl-sided Colonial Revival-style residences built after 2000. Most properties feature spacious grassy yards, private driveways and covered parking. Buyers may find single-family homes priced from around $250,000 to $450,000. "You have a lot of great neighborhoods here where you're going to see a lot of value," says Trevor Hall, Realtor at Helen Adams Realty.

There's a Food Lion on Little Rock Road, as well as V&K Asian Market, which stocks hard-to-find produce and imported ingredients. For a meal out, Miguel's is a little hole-in-the-wall Mexican café that locals love. The cozy neighborhood dive has been a mainstay for over 20 years, serving up classic margaritas and orders of its signature Fajita Nachos.

Robert L. Smith District Park's grassy grounds and forest extend across the neighborhood in a wide band from west to east. Pawtuckett residents and visitors from the area alike frequent this park to walk its trails or gather with friends and hit the disc golf course. Locals are also less than an 8-mile drive from the U.S. National Whitewater Center, a water park along the Catawba River. Crowds pour in during Charlotte's warm summer months to explore the 1,300-acre facility's array of outdoor adventures, including rock climbing, mountain biking, hiking and rafting. The nature center's sunset film series and River Jam events are well-attended city-wide attractions.

Pawtuckett provides residents with proximity to several outer Charlotte schools, with five convenient neighborhood options. East Voyager Academy of Charlotte, off Tuckaseegee Road, is North Carolina's first Mandarin Immersion Charter School. Students here celebrate both American and Chinese holidays, including the Mid-Autumn Festival and Chinese New Year. Students typically start at Tuckaseegee Elementary, which earns a B-minus grade from Niche. Next, kids can attend Wilson STEM Academy, which serves grades 6 through 8, before attending West Mecklenburg High School. Both schools receive C grades from Niche.
