A diverse, north Chicago suburb
Located near the city's northern boundary, Albany Park offers residents easy access to downtown Chicago without the hustle of living in the city center. Charming bungalows, large Victorians and a collection of multiunit housing punctuate quiet, tree-lined streets and ample green spaces. Developed in 1893 and named after Albany, New York, Albany Park is now one of Chicago's most diverse neighborhoods. You'll find West Lawrence Avenue packed with authentic Korean barbecue joints neighboring Mexican bakeries, Middle Eastern grills and a Filipino grocery shop. The area is known for hosting events such as restaurant crawls that encourage both locals and visitors to explore a variety of cuisines.

Bungalows and investment opportunities
Albany Park offers primarily low- and mid-density housing options, with single-family detached homes making up half of all residences. The remainder includes a variety of low-rise multiunit buildings. Popular styles in the area are bungalows, large Victorians and Tudors, and there are a few modern structures and Craftsman-style homes as well, with home prices ranging from $150,000 to $1.1 million. "Albany Park is a great spot for investors due to the area's appreciating home prices," says Deborah Hess, a local Realtor with Compass.

A multicultural dining experience
Albany Park is the perfect place to take a stroll and discover chill cocktail spots and a seemingly endless array of restaurants. The neighborhood's multicultural makeup lends itself to a unique combination of eateries. A section of West Lawrence Avenue between North Pulaski Road and North Western Avenue is lined with authentic Korean restaurants interspersed with taquerias and Mediterranean grills. It holds the honorary title of Seoul Drive. With so many eateries representing different cultures, it’s no wonder that one of Albany Park’s most popular events among foodies is Flavors of Albany Park, an annual restaurant crawl celebrating locally owned locations. The neighborhood is also known for its artisan pop-up shop series, highlighting local businesses and vendors. During the summer, Albany Park residents take to the streets for Lot Jams, an outdoor summer concert series featuring live music and activities for all ages.
A continued testament to the area’s diversity, one of the neighborhood's most beloved institutions is the award-winning Albany Park Theater Project, which has produced original plays highlighting immigrant and first-generation experiences since 1997.

Quiet and beautiful. But it needs more shops and restaurants. There is a few colleges in the area so there are a good amount of people but the amount of things to do in the area needs to increase.
