Cape Cods, bi-levels and more
Homes here flank gently rolling streets that often spread into cul-de-sacs. Some of these properties — including quaint single-story cottages with porches — date back to the '20s. Others, like the community's many Cape Cods with basement garages, were built later in the '50s and '60s, reflecting classic midcentury architectural trends. The '70s brought bi-levels with attached garages, while constructions in the following decades often reflected colonial-inspired architectural trends with brick accents. "They're constantly doing development," says Marchlewski, citing The Veridian, a new apartment complex. While most people living here reside in non-HOA single-family homes, there are a number of condos and townhouses in the community. Listing prices typically range from about $135,000 for a two-bedroom condo to just upwards of $720,000 for a Tudor Revival sitting on multiple acres. Some here properties receive high Flood Factor Scores.Delhi Park, Floral Paradise Gardens and more
Marchlewski spends his free time playing softball with an adult league at Delhi Park. It's "beer drinking, having fun, getting together with friends and family type deal," he says. The park's newer pickleball courts have also become very popular among locals here, according to Randy Supe, the township's park director. "We're planning a pickleball league soon," he says. Other visitors enjoy a pleasant stroll around Clearview Lake. "There's fishing allowed for residents on Fridays," Supe says. The path connects to the Floral Paradise Gardens, where locals can spot butterflies and smell the rich rose aromas during the springtime. Those who enjoy hiking can head to the Bender Mountain Preserve, where trails wind through heavily wooded areas, offering vistas of the Ohio River and the occasional deer spotting. The preserve is adjacent to the Sisters of Charity, a Catholic nonprofit ministry. Golfers can purchase memberships at the Western Hills Country Club, which abuts the community's northern border.Schooling options for Delhi students
Some children here enroll in the Oak Hills Local School District to attend C.O. Harrison Elementary School, which receives an A-minus rating from Niche. It boasts Destination Imagination, where children compete in tournaments, solving STEM-based challenges. The program is also offered at B-rated Delhi Middle School, which also boasts the Mad Science six-week after-school workshop. Students can then head to B-minus-rated Oak Hills High School, where they can join the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) and the American Sign Language Club and Honor Society. Some students opt to enroll in private schooling options like Our Lady of Victory School, a Catholic school that serves preschoolers through eighth graders. It is not yet rated by Niche. For higher learning opportunities, Delhi is home to Mount St. Joseph University, a private Catholic institution.Fun in the Sun Series and other events
When summer rolls around, the community gears up for the Fun in the Sun Series, which is held in Delhi Park. It features everything from a Cincinnati Shakespeare in the Park performance to the Delhi Farmers' Market, which runs on Saturdays from June through August. Supe says the program's most popular event is a summer concert series. "The park staff, crew and fire department work a food and drink facility. We do alcoholic beverage sales," he says. In October, locals head to the annual Harvest Hootenanny. Children spend time at the petting zoo, and fairgoers peruse dozens of local vendors. For other opportunities to shop locally, the community hosts two craft shows — one in the Fall and one in the summer. Some Delhi residents head to the summer festivals that some of the community's Catholic churches put on, according to Marchlewski. For smaller gatherings, locals can check out the offerings at Delhi's branch of the Cincinnati Public Library.Commutes to downtown Cincinnati, CVG Airport
Downtown Cincinnati is just about a 6-mile drive away via Delhi Road and the Ohio River Scenic Byway, giving residents easy access to some of the area's major employers, including Proctor & Gamble and Western & Southern Financial Group. Some people here may work at the nearby Mercy Health — Queen City Medical Center, which is just about 3 miles away via Covedale Avenue. While most people drive, they can also take advantage of the Cincinnati Metro routes. Line 32 can get people to the downtown area in around 40 minutes. The Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG) is just across the river, so it's not uncommon for residents to hear noise from the planes; however, they will to have to head on Interstate 75 for nearly 18 miles to to reach the airport.Delhi Road's restaurants, banks and car washes
Most of the township's chains and local eateries are situated along the much-visited Delhi Road. Marchlewski recommends Wild Mike's Delhi. Here, locals gather around the tables to share plates of wings and drink beer. For classic American fare, Marchlewski suggests trying Maloney's Pub. Patrons can dine amid a festive green interior or, on nice days, enjoy patio seating. Those craving Greek flavors can head to The Loaded Gyro. Also along Delhi Pike is McCabe Do It Center, a hardware store and Blue Roo Car Wash, one of the community's many car washes. Interestingly, there are four banks — Fifth Third, PNC, Chase and Hunnington — along Delhi Road, all within half a mile of each other. For groceries, locals can head to the community's Kroger location, and to pick up alcohol, they can head to the Delhi Liquor Store. The township's societies and associations
Those wanting to learn more about the township's rich history can head to the Farmhouse Museum, run by the Delhi Historical Society. Visitors can set up appointments to explore rotating exhibits about the township's history or check out the historic establishment's kitchen, which dates back to the '20s. The township also features the Delhi Police Historical Association, which informs the community about the department, and the Delhi Township Veterans Association, which maintains The Wall of Honor, dedicated to residents who have served the country.
