Country Club Estates
Historic homes with mature trees
Set along sidewalk-lined streets, Country Club Estates’ diverse single-family homes are generally a mix of bungalows and cottages from the early to late 20th century with minimal traditional or Craftsman-inspired features like covered porches, tapered columns and wooden window shutters. Most homes are under 2,000 square feet, but there are a handful of larger homes; some have Tudor-inspired features, like half-timbering and steeply pitched gables. Garages, carports and uncovered on- or off-street parking are all common across the neighborhood’s many styles. Lawns are dotted with mature trees and traditional mailboxes, and some houses have golf course views. Single-family home prices typically range from $300,000 to $800,000, depending on a home’s size and features.Downtown shopping and dining
“Shops, restaurants — it’s a real eclectic downtown that you can walk to,” Adams says. For groceries, Nature’s Food Patch is just outside the neighborhood, and El Ranchito De Pepe is nearby with specialty Hispanic ingredients. Cleveland Street is the main thoroughfare, lined with palm trees and local businesses. “Part of the street is closed, so the tables are in the street; it’s an outdoor hangout,” Adams says. To start the day, Grahame's Gourmet Cafe has hot coffee, smoothies and light breakfast fare, while Emily’s Restaurant is a diner around the corner with brunch classics like biscuits and gravy, banana pancakes and grilled pork chops. For dinner, Adams recommends Clear Sky on Cleveland, a popular bistro offering flavors from around the world, including everything from tamales and grilled octopus to pork belly ramen and hot honey pepperoni flatbread. After dinner, there are craft cocktails at The Nash Keys, a dueling piano bar known for its lively performances.Sunsets at Pier 60
“On Pier 60, they have the sunset celebration every night with outdoor street performers and vendors,” Adams says. Sunsets at Pier 60 is a Clearwater Beach tradition that celebrates the city’s artisan community and natural beauty as the sun sets over the Gulf. “It’s beautiful,” Adams says. “Sunsets with oranges, reds and yellows—sometimes little purple tints. I’ve even seen the green flash from there.” Four miles away, BayCare Park is the spring training home of the Philadelphia Phillies and an occasional concert venue.Top-ranked Tampa-area school district
Country Club Estates is part of Pinellas County Schools, rated A-minus overall and ranked the top school district in the Tampa area by Niche. Local kids may start at the C-plus-rated Sandy Lane Elementary before moving to Dunedin Highland Middle and Clearwater High — both rated B. At the latter, teens may take dual-enrollment classes for college credit at St. Petersburg College and Pinellas Technical College. Kids in kindergarten through Grade 12 may also attend the A-minus-rated Clearwater Academy International, a private, Scientologist school.Coachman Park and Clearwater Beach
The Clearwater Country Club offers a semi-private 18-hole golf course lined with mature oaks draped in Spanish moss. About a mile away, Coachman Park is a local favorite for its grassy fields, paved walking trails and splash pad; concerts are hosted year-round at the park’s amphitheater, The Baycare Sound. “Coachman Park has a really nice playground for the kids and a pier that you can walk out on by the marina,” Adams says. From the park, cyclists can take the Memorial Causeway Bike Trail to Clearwater Beach. At the beach, folks can play volleyball, enjoy watersports and even sign up for dolphin tours. “Fishing is a big draw there, sailing, jet skis, all that kind of stuff,” Adams says. Along Pier 60, fishing enthusiasts can cast their lines for Spanish mackerel and spotted seatrout.Getting around from Country Club Estates
Downtown Clearwater is less than a mile away, and nearby state Route 60 grants easy access to Tampa, 22 miles east. Residential streets are sidewalk-lined, and Pinellas Suncoast Transit Authority buses stop along thoroughfares like Cleveland Street and North Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue. The area’s bikeable, though there aren’t designated bike lanes. Morton Plant Hospital is 2 miles away, and St. Pete–Clearwater International Airport is 10 miles away.Environmental concerns and risk of flooding
The Federal Emergency Management Agency designates much of the neighborhood as Flood Zone AE, which means there is an annual 1% chance of flooding. In 2024, Hurricanes Milton and Helene impacted Clearwater, causing local businesses and beaches to be closed for weeks or months. Flood insurance is required for homes in Flood Zone AE.
