Mount Pleasant offers relative affordability within an active community in east Cleveland. People here engage with their neighbors through houses of worship and at community events held by the local recreation centers and library. The neighborhood attracts many investors who rent out multi-family homes, though some buyers are remodeling these older dwellings to join the community themselves.
More housing coming to Mount Pleasant
Neighborhood streets feature bungalows, Colonial Revivals and Foursquares from the 1900s to the 1940s, many with detached garages accessible through private driveways. Oftentimes, it is these paved driveways that separate houses from one another, with functional green space limited to modest backyards. Duplexes are common, with dual front entry doors or a side door, and a second, covered porch situated above the first. Prices typically range between $25,000 and $150,000. Many homes require some upkeep before move in, which attracts investors. Mount Pleasant is "part of an up-and-coming revitalization area and well known to investors worldwide,” says Leilani Bowersock, a Realtor with Coldwell Banker Schmidt Realty who has sold many homes in the neighborhood.
