Waterloo Arts Fest celebrates art and expression annually
Waterloo Arts is a local nonprofit in the neighborhood focused on providing arts programming. Since 2004, the organization has operated a gallery that holds live music and open mic events and a space for arts education. It supports resident artists and has eight studios. The gallery is also home to Zoetic Walls, a public art program showcasing works by regional and international artists.
Each year, the nonprofit organizes the Waterloo Arts Fest, celebrating the community's vibrant arts scene with live performances, art installations, and interactive workshops.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Waterloo Arts received funding from the Northeast Ohio Regional Sewer District to build a green roof. This project not only repaired their leaking roof but also prevented over 100,000 gallons of rainwater from entering storm sewers each year. The Beachland Ballroom regularly hosts concerts, keeping the local music culture alive with hometown performers.
Cindy Barber is the executive director of the nonprofit Cleveland Rocks: Past, Present and Future. This organization is dedicated to supporting local artists and honoring Cleveland's rich music history. It also focuses on creating a sustainable music scene by providing resources, retail opportunities, and performance spaces for musicians in the area. Barber's nonprofit operates a store in the old Music Saves record store in the neighborhood.
