Craftsman homes in 2005 developments
Most homes in Bridgeview are located in The Village at Stone Cliff, a neighborhood with a homeowners’ association. Built around 2005, Craftsman houses with front porches line streets with narrow, single-person sidewalks. Yards are more open, with young trees sitting close to the sidewalks. Garages are located at the backs of the houses and are accessible through side streets off the main corridors so that all homes look uniform from the front. Potential buyers can also find siding ranch and bungalow homes built in the 1950s located off Sunbury Road and Dawnlight Avenue. “Our average in Ohio is around $315,000,” says Realtor Thomas Hamrick, with Keller Williams Consultants Realty. He's also a longtime Columbus resident. “But you can still get homes here in the mid-200,000 range.” The Craftsman homes in Bridgeview list for around $280,000, while ranch homes might average closer to $150,000.Stroll along Alum Creek Trail
At Mock Park, the Willis Athletic Complex has indoor basketball courts where residents can play and get active year-round. The park offers 24 acres of woodlands and picnicking spots, with a walking loop and playground. Northeast Park is just over 3 acres, with a playground and community garden. Howard Community Center has an art room. The park is home to several athletic facilities, including a basketball court, a baseball diamond and soccer fields. Alum Creek Trail is a place where locals can breathe in the fresh air under the trees. Hamrick says residents can also use the Columbus trails to bike into the city instead of driving.AP classes at Mifflin High School
Students in Bridgeview can attend Cassady Elementary School in the Columbus City Schools district for kindergarten through fifth grade. For grades six through eight, students can attend Mifflin Middle School. Mifflin High School offers several Advanced Placement (AP) classes to help students earn potential college credit. They can also earn industry credentials through the Career Tech program, which teaches economics, business and customer service. Niche grants all three schools a C-minus.Movie nights at Easton Town Center
Easton Town Center is a great place for northeast Columbus residents to attend events, like a movie series in the summer with a big screen playing family favorite films. “They have a mac and cheese festival in the spring,” Hamrick says. Because of Bridgeview’s proximity to downtown Columbus, residents can attend citywide events and festivals there. In the summer, they can celebrate the Fourth of July at Red, White and BOOM! with an all-day celebration in the city center that ends with a fireworks show. Columbus Oktoberfest showcases German heritage and culture in Columbus while getting everyone in the fall spirit. Columbus Arts Festival is an annual tradition that draws more than 200 artists to the banks of the Scioto River.Connect to the city on a public bus
Residents can catch the number 9 bus on Agler Road, along the neighborhood’s northern border, while the number 7 bus runs along Cassady Avenue to the east. On Mock Road, the number 31 takes riders to the park. Commuters can access several major motorways, including I-270 to the east. I-670 connects the neighborhood to downtown Columbus. Bridgeview is just 3 miles from John Glenn Columbus International Airport. The nearest hospital is the OhioHealth Grant Medical Center, 6.5 miles away in downtown Columbus.Live jazz music and urban farms
Melt Bar and Grilled serves up gourmet grilled cheeses, including an option that has pierogies in the middle, but also offers other fan favorites like wings. For authentic Indian cuisine, residents can head over to Cumin and Curry. At Northstar Café, locals can order American classics like pizza and burgers made with locally grown ingredients while enjoying live jazz music every evening. “Right around Sunbury, there’s Sunbury Urban Farm, which is a nonprofit that gives out produce to people in need,” Hamrick says, and shares that he used to volunteer there. The farm also offers workshops and camps to teach the community new skills and help them connect with nature. Residents can complete all of their grocery shopping at Easton Town Center, which is about 4 miles away from Bridgeview. The shopping center is home to several familiar grocery brands, including Whole Foods, Costco, Walmart, Trader Joe’s and Target.
