Why commuters and families are drawn to Crossroads
Crossroads is a small neighborhood sitting right where two major highways meet. This easy access to Columbus makes it convenient for commuters, but top-ranked public schools, nearby shopping centers and well-maintained houses also bring families and first-time homeowners. Though just outside of busy interstates and the airport, Crossroads still stays surprisingly quiet.
Crossroads is located directly off of Highway 670.

Smaller wooded lots with midcentury and ranch-style homes
Though most lots are on the smaller side, Crossroads is filled with heavy clusters of trees and foliage, giving the area a woodsy feel. The area is has a variety of older homes that are typically smaller than the national average in square footage. Most houses are midcentury or newer, with an emphasis on ranch-style dwellings. These tend to sell around the high $200,000s and the low $300,000s. You’ll sometimes find newer buildings, including New Traditional homes that usually sell in the low $500,000s. “What I love about it is the affordability – you get a lot of first-time homebuyers,” says Derrick Smith, a Realtor with KW Commercial Classic Properties of Columbus. “For the price of renting an upscale apartment, you could actually be owning your own property here.” He says that compared to nearby communities, Crossroads has a quiet atmosphere that’s ideal for walking. The median price for a single-family home here falls in the low $400,000s – higher than places like Cumberland Ridge, Somerset, Easton and Bridgeview.

Easy access to major highways and nearby job hubs
The neighborhood is bordered by U.S. Route 62 and by Interstates 270 and 670. As a result, Crossroads serves as a convenient home base for most professionals. Downtown Columbus is about 8 miles away, while the big job hubs of Gahanna, Upper Arlington and Westerville are all within 12 miles or less. Data centers and corporate offices for tech giants like Meta, Amazon and Google have opened around New Albany, about 11 miles away, creating a variety of new jobs and causing many to refer to the area as “the Silicon Valley of the Midwest.” Crossroads is also convenient for frequent fliers, as John Glenn Columbus International Airport is directly south of the neighborhood. But Smith, who grew up in the neighborhood, explains that having a major airport this close to home doesn’t create much noise. “The planes take off east to west, so Crossroads doesn’t get any of that noise pollution,” he says. A $2 billion expansion of the airport is scheduled for completion in 2029. Public transit is available through the Central Ohio Transit Authority, with stops throughout the neighborhood.

Students attend schools in the Gahanna-Jefferson district
Students attend the top-rated Gahanna-Jefferson Public School District. Gahanna Lincoln High School first opened its doors in January of 2026. The three-story school includes over 130 classrooms, three dining areas and a new stadium. Gahanna-Jefferson schools mostly place students based on where they live, but families can ask for an in-district transfer if they prefer another school. These requests depend on space and are reviewed together by the district. Families outside the district can only enroll through Ohio’s open-enrollment rules, which also rely on district policy and available room.
