Knolls West, a sought-after Columbus suburb
Knolls West draws homebuyers with access to an eclectic array of local restaurants, well-kept greenspaces and downtown entertainment options. The suburb’s relatively low property taxes and access to highly rated private schools are considerable draws for homebuyers. “The property taxes are less than in Upper Arlington, where the school district has greater funding,” says Realtor Andrew Whiteman, who sells houses in the neighborhood with RE/MAX Achievers. “People move here if they don’t have kids and prefer not to pay for schools they aren’t using or send their kids to the area’s parochial and Catholic schools.”
Single-family homes and condos
Homebuyers can purchase brick condos from the 1970s and 80s for between $220,000 and $350,000. Assessors value 1950s ranch-style houses at between $320,000 and $450,000. Bi-level homes built in the 1960s sell for between $430,000 and $600,000. “Most yard sizes are half an acre or less, which is a downside for some homebuyers,” Whiteman says.
