But places to shop, highly rated schools and popular green spaces, in and near the neighborhood, give the area a solid reputation for convenience. In 2023, it rolled out its Journey 2030 plan for growth: a district-wide effort with input from students, staff and community members. Some schools, like Wright Elementary School and The Barrington School of Upper Arlington, are just outside the neighborhood boundaries and could be easy walks for some students.

The Carriage Place Plaza makes up the southwestern corner of Misty Meadows. Anchored by a Walmart Supercenter, this shopping complex includes dozens of retail options, chain restaurants and services. Located at the corner of Sawmill and Bethel roads, most locals are within half a mile, which makes for convenient shopping. Sawmill Road itself is a hub for commerce, with big-box stores and malls lining it for miles.
Local eateries offer a wide mix of global flavors
Even though a lot of restaurants around Misty Meadows are big-name chains, there are plenty of locally owned places worth checking out: Buckeye Pho offers Vietnamese favorites with vegetarian and gluten-free options.

With easy access to the highways, getting around is pretty simple. Downtown Columbus is about 15 miles away, and places like Hilliard and Worthington are under 10 miles away. Dublin and Upper Arlington are just a few miles from the neighborhood. The Central Ohio Transit Authority has plenty of bus stops along Bethel Road and Pickforde Drive, so it’s a convenient option for pedestrians commuting to work.

West Case Park and the community center anchor local activity
Once a 58-acre sheep farm, West Case Park is now the centerpiece of Misty Meadows. The green space currently has a walking loop that's over a mile long and wide fields, but plans are underway to add athletic facilities, a multipurpose field and a new branch of the Columbus Library. The Carriage Place Community Center is a popular gathering spot that includes classes, outdoor and indoor activities and local programming. “Misty Meadows residents rallied to have the park as the outdoor aspect of the community center,” says Sue Berg, a Realtor with Coldwell Banker Realty who lived in Misty Meadows for 21 years. “That’s a big deal to have that there. The community center also has an active pickleball league.”
Northcrest Park is located close by.
Many green spaces are within walking distance of most locals.
