Putting the park in Park Club

Sharon Woods Metro Park borders the neighborhood, offering 761 acres to locals. Schrock Lake is stocked with bluegill, bass and catfish for fishing enthusiasts. Outdoor exercise equipment and walking trails encourage residents to get outside. The park also includes the Edward S. Thomas Nature Preserve. Paul S. Metzger Park is ideal for athletes with four baseball diamonds and four soccer fields. Lazelle Woods Park is home to the Lazelle Woods Community Center, which has rooms for art, ceramics, fitness and meetings. It also offers classes throughout the year.

Join ski and snow board clubs at Worthington schools

Slate Hill Elementary School received a B-plus ranking from Niche and was listed as the 14th most diverse public elementary school in the state. For sixth through eighth grade, students attend Perry Middle School, which receives a six out of ten rating from GreatSchools. In the winter, the school has a ski and board club to connect students with the area’s snowy climate. Worthington Kilbourne High School earns an A-minus from Niche and has an International Baccalaureate (IB) program. The school also has an annual tradition of facing off against its rival, Dublin Scioto High, on the football field in the Battle of Hard Road.

Worthington farmers markets and Polaris cooking classes

In the winter, The Shops at Worthington hosts the Worthington Farmers Market on Saturdays, but it moves to Downtown Worthington in the summers. Carfagna’s also hosts many community events, like live music and weekly screenings of the Sopranos on Saturdays. Cooking classes throughout the year help residents learn to make Italian classics like lasagna, pizza and fresh gnocchi.

The nearest public transportation is the 102 bus run by the Central Ohio Transit Authority (COTA) and stops along Sancus Boulevard outside the neighborhood. Overall, the area is car-reliant, but I-70 makes up one of the Park Club’s borders for increased accessibility. With downtown Columbus only 15 miles away, this neighborhood is close to the city’s action while creating a very residential environment. Park Club is 15 miles from John Glenn Columbus International Airport. Mount Carmel St. Ann's is just 3 miles away.

Indian and Italian at Polaris Town Center

Polaris Towne Center is 2 miles away and brings commercial life to Park Club residents. The shopping mall has a Target, IKEA and Trinethra Indian Supermarket nearby. Three miles away in Gemini Place Town Center, there is a Costco and Carfagna’s Market and Ristorante. This Italian grocery store carries cheeses, meats, wines and pasta. The restaurant has traditional Italian food. Only 3 miles away, The Shops at Worthington have a Kroger.
Park Club’s proximity to Polaris also provides many excellent restaurants to the community. Daawat Indian Bistro brings an Indian twist to bar food at their sports bar. Matt the Miller’s Tavern has three-course steak dinners on Tuesdays and Thursdays, but it also has excellent bar food, like its fan-favorite Bavarian pretzel bites. For Filipino cuisine, locals can head over to Kuya Ian’s Bistro. Some of their specials include Lechon Kawali, deep-fried pork belly, and fried milkfish, a native Filipino fish deep-fried in a garlic marinade. Giordano’s brings Chicago deep-dish pizza to Columbus.
