When people hear Quarry Trails, they think of the growing master-planned community in this Columbus neighborhood. The community wraps around the sprawling Quarry Trails Metro Park, meaning you can spend hours outside. Homes are a short walk from amenities such as a cafe and a gym, with additional restaurants nearby. You have easy access to one of Columbus’ main roads, which makes it easy to reach downtown and major employers like The Ohio State University.
Contemporary architecture makes up most of the neighborhood
Contemporary architecture fills the Quarry Trails planned community and includes a mix of townhouses, condos and single-family homes. You’ll find properties with open floor plans and plenty of windows, which bring in natural light. “There’s a diversity in price points,” says Realtor Sara Walsh with eXp Realty, who has nearly 40 years of experience. Prices generally range from the mid-$500,000s to $1.4 million.
There are some older New Traditional homes and townhouses just outside of the master-planned community, which can cost between the mid-$300,000s and the mid-$400,000s.
Nature lovers spend time at Quarry Trails Metro Park
The neighborhood shares its name with Quarry Trails Metro Park, which was once one of the largest limestone quarries in the country. Now, nature lovers come to the park to hike the trails to Millikin Falls or to kayak at Swan Lake. A via ferrata course is set up along the park’s cliffs, which has over 1,000 feet of climbing cables. You can also go fishing and mountain biking.
Because the Quarry Trails master-planned community is mixed-use, Walsh says, “you’re going to have some fun things there.” The Athletic Cos is a fitness center offering private coaching and group classes, with 24/7 access for members. There’s also a swimming pool, a dog park and sauna pods.
Downtown Columbus and OSU are a short drive away
Part of the area’s appeal is its location. You’re less than 10 miles (15 minutes) from and less than 5 miles (10 minutes) from The Ohio State University. Most people drive, and there is easy access to U.S. Route 33, also known as Dublin Road, one of the city’s main drags. Central Ohio Transit Authority buses stop in the area.
Dining options include local cafes and Upper Arlington restaurants
If you live in the master-planned community, you can walk to Bada Bean Bada Booze for a cup of coffee or a cocktail. There’s also Playa Bowls, which serves acai bowls, and more dining options are on the way. Walsh says that you can also head to Upper Arlington for a bite to eat, with restaurants lining West Lane Avenue. Options include:
Fukuryu Ramen, which serves ramen and Japanese comfort food
La Chatelaine French Bakery & Bistro, a family-owned eatery with French-inspired dishes
The Wine Bistro, which you can visit for wine tastings or a dinner with friends
Graeter’s Ice Cream, a regional ice cream chain with a rotating selection of flavors
West Lane Avenue also has a Whole Foods, which is one of the closest grocery options. You can also head to Lennox Town Center in Tri-Village for big-box stores like Target and a movie theater.
Students attend highly rated Hilliard City Schools
While the neighborhood is in Columbus, it is zoned for the highly rated Hilliard City School District. Students can attend Hilliard Davidson High School, which has Advanced Placement courses and an extensive fine arts program. Both the district and the high school earn an A-minus from Niche.
