Strawberry Farms has lower taxes and easy access to the city

When it comes to Strawberry Farms, location is the name of the game. “Strawberry Farms comes with Columbus taxes and Westerville schools,” says Thomas Hamrick , a Columbus Realtor and lifetime local. “You have the benefit of cheaper property taxes while still being close to places like Uptown Westerville, with tons of cute little antique shops and restaurants.” The community's spot along the Outerbelt makes it easier to commute downtown or visit any number of stores, restaurants and entertainment options. At the same time, locals see less traffic in their streets. “That’s a destination neighborhood,” says Bruce Dooley , president of the Dooley and Company team at Keller Williams Classic Properties. “If you’re driving through there, it’s because you’re visiting.”

Homes are mostly contemporary with midcentury designs

Homes are typically contemporary, built between the 1970s and 1990s. Midcentury designs are popular, with a lot of split-levels, Cape Cods and ranch-style houses to pick from. Lots are usually less than a quarter-acre, and they’re often filled with mature shade trees. Townhouses with Tudor accents tend to sell between the high $100,000s and mid-$200,000s, while single-family homes range from the low $200,000s to the mid-$400,000s. Dooley says the overall atmosphere is classic suburbia. “It’s got a great vibe,” he says. “It’s beautifully maintained.”
