Village at Worthington
Suburban Neighborhood in Columbus, Ohio
Franklin County 43235
An in-demand housing market
In the Village at Worthington subdivision in the southern part of the neighborhood, residents can find a number of turnkey New Traditional and split-level single-family homes that feature a mix of vinyl and brick exteriors. Wide sidewalks line the subdivision’s streets, making the residential area considerably walkable. “People also love that those very sidewalks are lined with mature trees. It makes the area especially beautiful,” says Andy Whiteman, a local realtor with RE/MAX Achievers. At The Sanctuary in the neighborhood’s northern part, there are options for both single-family and multi-family properties. “Condos on one side offer easier living style and homes on the other side are large, made up of stone, stucco and brick and 1908’s style,” Kiefaber says. The median price of a home here is just over $400,000, although residences in The Sanctuary tend to price higher in the $500,000 to $650,000 range.Enjoy a midday picnic at Flint Park
Flint Park is a nearly six-acre outdoor space in the middle of the neighborhood. Parkgoers can walk along a paved walking trail and have a picnic in the park’s sheltered pavilion; there’s also a small playground with climbing spots, slides and swings. Just outside the neighborhood is the York Golf Club, an 18-hole private course situated along the Olentangy River. Members can play unlimited golf and enjoy a full-service restaurant and bar, which can also be reserved for private events. Several other outdoor recreation spots can be found farther south along the Olentangy River, including Worthington Skatepark, Whitney Playground and Olentangy Parklands.High marks for Worthington City School District
Young learners in this neighborhood are zoned for Worthington Hills Elementary, an A-minus-rated primary school serving kindergarten through fifth grade. Older students can attend McCord Middle School and later head to Worthington Kilbourne High School, which are both rated A-minus. Founded in 1991, Worthington Kilbourne High School has seen athletic teams win state championships in lacrosse, soccer and water polo. Students here can also enroll in the high school’s International Baccalaureate Program, which offers a more rigorous curriculum that promotes critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.Worthington Farmers Market is hosted year-round
The Worthington Farmers Market is the largest farmers market in Central Ohio with nearly 100 vendors selling local produce and goods. During the cold winter months, the farmers market is held in the indoor Shops at Worthington Place shopping mall every Saturday morning from November through April. From May through October, the market is hosted outdoors in the Old Worthington Historic District each Saturday morning. For events and gatherings, Village at Worthington residents can rent 115 Park, a centuries-old brick schoolhouse located right across the street from Flint Park.Flint Station is a local staple
Within the neighborhood itself is Flint Station, a bar, eatery and event space that was originally built in 1868 and has become a local staple. Patrons can enjoy specialty cocktails, live music and karaoke events every week. Additional shopping and dining destinations are only a short drive away. “The main street in the area is 23 North High Street, and it has a lot of restaurants along there,” Kiefaber says. The Shops at Worthington Place is a shopping mall located approximately 2 miles away just south of Interstate 270; here, locals can do their weekly grocery shopping at Kroger before heading into the main indoor mall for a range of apparel stores, boutique shops and chain dining locations.
