Wexmoor
Suburban Neighborhood in Columbus, Ohio
Franklin County 43230
Leafy sidewalks along Wendler Boulevard
Wexmoor’s residential subdivisions are farther south along North Stygler Road, as the northern tip of the neighborhood is occupied by the commercial headquarters of Express, Inc. and several other warehouse facilities. Wendler Boulevard branches into various cul-de-sacs, each lined with split levels, ranch-style homes and townhouses shaded by old-growth trees. Primarily constructed between the 1970s and 80s, these properties are typically priced between $200,000 and $350,000. Leafy sidewalks are woven throughout, often dotted with locals walking their pets or leisurely exercising in the warmer months. One may even find a book hut or two when looking closely.Twin parks on Big Walnut Creek
Overlooking Big Walnut Creek, Woodside Green Park holds 32 acres of greenspace with a canoe launch, playground, athletic fields and a catch-and-release pond. From there, visitors can access Big Walnut Trail, a nearly five-mile pedestrian path that winds along the river’s edge. One can easily follow the trail to Academy Park, which is closer to home off Cherry Bottom Road. Folks and families can utilize the many recreational amenities offered, like a large basketball court, open fields, a baseball diamond and a playground. Thanks to the connecting trail, one can park at either location and easily reach the next.Gahanna schools’ intramurals and credit flexibility
Wexmoor students attend Gahanna-Jefferson Public Schools, an A-minus district with high-quality teachers and college prep. Students begin at Chapelfield Elementary and continue on to Gahanna Middle School West, occupying the same campus. While the former receives an A-minus on Niche, the latter receives a B-plus and offers all-inclusive intramural sports to expand upon physical education courses. Lincoln High School is a few miles south, off Hamilton Road. The school receives an A-minus on Niche, providing a Credit Flexibility Program for students looking to manage their coursework independently. The Creekside District
Just 3 miles north of Gahanna’s historic Creekside District, residents of Wexmoor are privy to the three-day Creekside Blues & Jazz Festival, held annually in June. Residents and visitors alike gather to celebrate local musicians and highlight the district’s most popular shops and eateries. “Creekside is like a downtown area,” Hamrick says. “Café Creekside, Barrel and Bore; There are a bunch of good little restaurants to try out.” The Gahanna Farmer’s Market takes place every Wednesday from May to September, honoring the area’s nickname as the “Herb Capital of Ohio” with local vendors and artisans. Folks willing to travel farther can enjoy the perks of the city’s Arena District, catching a Blue Jackets hockey game or perusing the global food stalls at North Market.Flanked by Interstate 270
Wexmoor is bordered in the west by Interstate 270, known as “The Outerbelt.” From there, it’s a 5-mile commute to John Glenn Columbus International Airport and 10 miles to Downtown Columbus, the city’s Arena District and Ohio State University. State Route 62, East Johnstown Road, offers a straight shot to Gahanna’s Creekside District, accessible via Cherry Bottom Road. While the neighborhood is relatively car-dependent, the city’s COTA bus system provides rush hour stops along I-270, with standard stops dotting Stelzer and Morse Road.Easton Town Center
Situated directly across Interstate 270, Easton Town Center is the most popular premier shopping destination outside of Columbus—and Wexmoor’s residents are less than a mile away. “It used to just be Easton Station,” says Thomas Hamrick, Columbus Realtor and lifetime local. “We had the movie theater and the old school mall with footwalkers and stuff. But now they’ve built an entire town center around it, and it’s all walkable outdoor shops.” The center holds more than 200 outlets, restaurants and entertainment options, including a comedy club. Daily amenities are available on all ends, including a Trader Joe’s, Costco Wholesale and Target. Additionally, the mixed-use plaza features a grid-like layout with fountains and rest areas for an entire day of shopping. About 3 miles south, Gahanna’s Creekside District features historic scenery and a variety of restaurants with a more laid-back feel.
