Fruit trees on Apple Drive in Concord neighborhood
The Concord neighborhood of Tree Haven comes by its name honestly. Palm, pine, live oak, cedar and olive trees fill this community off Monument Boulevard near Interstate 680. The neighborhood is sometimes called the Fruit Bowl, with Orange Street, Apple Drive, Peach Place and Apricot Lane crisscrossing one section. “The area was originally an orchard, so there are a lot of fruit trees,” says Tina Kaur-Campbell, a Realtor with Keller Williams who has sold homes in the area for a decade. “They do really well when you plant them. A lot of people have lemons, apples, or pomegranates growing in their yards.” The canopied lawns give the neighborhood a suburban feel, and urban commercial strips are within a walk or a short drive away.

Housing ranges from mid-century to modern
Modest mid-century ranch-style homes with tidy yards and two-car garages fill most of the neighborhood, but Tree Haven has pockets of outliers. There is a section of manufactured homes near Monument Boulevard. Condominiums built in the late 1960s and early 70s are in a section along Walnut Creek, and on the east side is a development of fifteen new two-story homes with modern luxury features. Older single-family homes range from $625,000 to $1 million, depending on their size. New homes range from $1.35 million to $1.4 million. Condos run from $330,000 to $450,000, and manufactured homes are valued between $100,000 and $165,000. “House prices are a bit lower here, compared to neighboring areas, so there’s more opportunity for entry-type buyers,” says Jill Cherne, realtor with Keller Williams Realty, who grew up in the area and has been selling real estate there for over 18 years. “Here, but also pretty much anywhere across the board, we’re seeing limited inventory.”
