Tree Haven
Neighborhood in Concord, California
Contra Costa County 94518
Housing ranges from mid-century to modern
Modest mid-century ranch-style homes with tidy yards and two-car garages fill most of the neighborhood, but Tree Haven has pockets of outliers. There is a section of manufactured homes near Monument Boulevard. Condominiums built in the late 1960s and early 70s are in a section along Walnut Creek, and on the east side is a development of fifteen new two-story homes with modern luxury features. Older single-family homes range from $625,000 to $1 million, depending on their size. New homes range from $1.35 million to $1.4 million. Condos run from $330,000 to $450,000, and manufactured homes are valued between $100,000 and $165,000. “House prices are a bit lower here, compared to neighboring areas, so there’s more opportunity for entry-type buyers,” says Jill Cherne, realtor with Keller Williams Realty, who grew up in the area and has been selling real estate there for over 18 years. “Here, but also pretty much anywhere across the board, we’re seeing limited inventory.”Ygnacio Valley Park features green space for free play
The Iron Horse Regional Trail borders the western edge of Tree Haven. This paved trail spans 32 miles between the towns of Concord and Pleasanton and is used for running, walking and biking. Just across the eastern border, Ygnacio Valley Park features picnic tables, playgrounds and a big green space for sports and free play. About 5 miles south, Heather Farm Park provides 100 acres of recreation, including walking and bike paths that wind around a fishing pond, gardens and an equestrian center. Sports fields, a dog park and an all-abilities playground round out the features. The Iron Horse Regional Trail connects Tree Haven to this park.Schools and educational opportunities
Kids can attend Ygnacio Valley Elementary School and continue at Oak Grove Middle School, both of which get a C grade on Niche. They can finish at Ygnacio Valley High School, which gets a B-minus. Ygnacio Valley High has a robust International Baccalaureate (IB) program, which allows students to take advanced courses and earn college credit while still in high school.Bay Area hot spots in reach of Tree Haven
