A close-knit suburb near Boston
The Manor is a community of close-knit residents where neighbors know each other and take pride in their section of this Boston suburb. It’s a place where neighborly vibes are felt everywhere. “That is something that I think is quite nice,” says Denise Connell, a local Realtor of Donahue Real Estate Co., who has been selling homes in the area for nearly two decades. “The Manor has a neighborhood association, so they do many family-oriented things together.” The Manor Neighborhood Association organizes a variety of programming for residents, from a neighborhood social to a Halloween trunk or treat. “People do know their neighbors and look out for one another,” Connell says. “It's a town where people born and raised here rarely leave,” says Connell. Residents have proximity to downtown Boston, which is 15 miles away and home to major employers such as the Boston Logan International Airport and Massachusetts General Hospital. “One of the main draws for people is that it’s a good commuting location, located right off the highway,” says Mary Ellen McDonough, a Realtor with Donahue Real Estate Co., who was born and raised in the Boston area. “You’re paying less while still living close to the action.”

Locals visit downtown Boston for more than work, as it’s a walkable area with indoor activities like the AMC Boston Common 19 movie theater and outdoor activities like the Public Gardens, located right across the street.
A mix of mid-century architecture
In The Manor, early-to-mid-20th-century ramblers are priced between $600,000 and $700,000, and larger colonial revivals range from $800,000 to $900,000. Homes are spaced close together but are separated by white picket fences. Some blocks feature asphalt sidewalks, connecting neighbors and providing runways for a morning or afternoon walk or jog. Properties also include asphalt driveways, where people park their cars daily.
