A lakeside commuter hub in Snohomish County

Located 25 miles north of Seattle, Eastmont’s Silver Lake neighborhood looks like a rural town with its wealth of tall evergreen trees and local parks, its lack of sidewalks and its abundance of vintage ranch-style homes. However, this neighborhood enjoys easy access to a regional shopping center and bordering Interstate 5, puts the greater Seattle area at its fingertips. "Convenience is what draws people here,” says Realtor Bonnie Roulstone with Windermere Lake Stevens. “The neighborhood is close to I-5, which takes you to Seattle or Everett and only 15 minutes from Boeing. Buyers also enjoy how close the area is to Mill Creek Town Center and that students can attend great schools.”

Recreation revolves around Silver Lake

Silver Lake takes its name from a 104-acre lake on the neighborhood’s western edge. This freshwater formation also serves as an oasis of outdoor recreation, and is open for fishing and kayaking. Hauge Homestead Park and Thornton A. Sullivan Park border the lake on opposite sides. The 35-acre Sullivan Park also offers disc golf and basketball courts. Retail and restaurants circle the lake and line the highway

Silver Lake has access to a WinCo Foods and a handful of fast-food outlets along State Route 527. The Everett Mall, one of Snohomish County’s main shopping centers, also borders the neighborhood. This massive complex, home to over 100 stores, includes a Trader Joe’s, Best Buy and other retail giants within its walls, and dining options are just as diverse. Guam Grub may be some shoppers’ first introduction to the cuisine of that Micronesian island, which combines Spanish empanadas with barbecue reminiscent of Filipino cuisine. Closer to home, Emory’s on Silver Lake serves up steaks and seafood from a deck and bar overlooking the lake, while L’Artisan Pastry specializes in sweets.

GreatSchools: The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. I would say we don't have a lot of crime in the area. There have been a few breaks in in our neiborhood when people were away on vacation. Our next door neighbors sell products via eBay and Craig's list out of their house and they have had a couple breakins. Other then that, it's pretty safe.

I feel very safe in my neighborhood. There never is really any crime to speak of, and the neighbors are usually on watch for any suspicious characters wandering in our cul-de-sac

There are a lot of decent opportunities out there current;y, as businesses are gearing up for summer, it's just that you need to learn where to look. Craigslist has a lot of decent options that people need to discover.
