Minimal traditionals and multi-family townhouses
The real estate market in Grandview is competitive due to its distinguished school district and proximity to urban amenities. With a median sales price of $500,000, homes in Grandview cost about $200,000 more than the average property in the Minneapolis Metro Area. While the neighborhood is primarily composed of apartments, single-family options are also available in a traditional six-block grid pattern east of the commercial area along Vernon Avenue South. Minimalist styles are common and range from the high $300,000s to upwards of $600,000 for a rambler or Cape Cod. Prices range from $300,000 for a condo to more than $900,000 for a newly built townhouse. Most homes were constructed in the 1950s, but newer builds are also available. “There’s been an average of 100 teardowns in Edina in the last 10 to 15 years,” says Barry Berg, Realtor at Coldwell Banker Realty. “It’s so common that Edina has hired someone to manage the teardown activity.” Homes have detached garages, mid-sized yards and paved entryways. While the streets lack sidewalks, they are primarily residential and are often used for dog walking amid the slower traffic.Read or picnic at Grandview Square Park

Families in Grandview are zoned for the Edina Public School District, which is ranked as the No. 4 best school district in Minnesota by the educational review site, Niche. “The district has historically been considered one of the best in Minnesota,” says Berg, who has been selling in the Twin Cities for over 35 years. Students can attend schools, like Highlands Elementary, South View Middle and Edina High School, which have received ratings of A, A and A-plus from Niche. Highlands Elementary School also has a multilingual learners program that helps students navigate the curriculum in both English and Spanish through its English as a Second Language (ESL) instruction.
