Centered by an expansive 60-acre outdoor space, Pamela Park provides residents with comfortable living and plenty of recreation at their fingertips.
The centerpiece of the neighborhood is its namesake park, Pamela Park. Residents can come here to reach their exercise goal by going for a jog along the mile-long trail or playing a few games of pickleball. There are several athletic fields parsed throughout the park for batting practice or a pickup soccer game, and folks can enjoy a nice lunch afterward in the picnic area. Families flock here during the wintertime for ice skating in the outdoor rink with a warming house. If residents want to find a quiet spot to enjoy some fresh air, they can head to St. John’s Park, which has plenty of green spaces. Residents are also close to the Edina Community Center, a hub for activities and classes for people of all ages and home to several city events.
This eastern Edina enclave has a blend of homes built throughout the 1950s and 60s that can be priced anywhere between $500,000 and $650,000. However, there’s plenty of new growth throughout the neighborhoods, with new homes being built throughout the area, starting at $1.4 million up to $1.9 million. This is no cookie-cutter neighborhood, as there are Cape Cods with large chimneys next to cozy two-bedroom midcentury homes and houses with brick accents that give them great curb appeal. Some roads throughout the neighborhood are lined with sidewalks with towering evergreen trees that’ll provide shade on afternoon walks.
Public schools in the area are part of the Edina Public School District, with school-aged children starting their education at Concord Elementary School, which has an overall A grade from Niche. Students at Concord can develop their green thumb in the Concord School Garden Club or join the school news program when they reach the fifth grade. Students will then attend South View Middle School, which also has an A rating on Niche, followed by Edina High School, which was named a National School of Excellence by the U.S. Department of Education and is regularly recognized and highly ranked among the best schools in the nation.
Locals head to Town Hall Station and enjoy a brew and American fare on the expansive patio space. Walking into Snuffy’s Malt Shop will feel like a walk back in time with its diner-style environment, offering burgers, fries and various sweet treats.
Not only does living in the neighborhood provide residents with many nearby conveniences, including being close to shops and dining options, but they’re also just minutes away from major roadways. Central Minneapolis can be accessed via Minnesota State Highway 100 or Interstate 35W, which also connects to St. Paul.
