Eldridge is a growing area

Eldridge, Iowa is a city full of opportunity for those who call this place home. Its very active chamber of commerce assists local small businesses in getting up and running. Newly built homes in the area are making way for new residents and growing families to set up shop and get in on the action taking place in Eldridge. As its motto states, Eldridge is a hometown with a vision, and that vision is focused on the future.

New homes join century-old Elkridge properties

A mix of old and new homes populate the streets of Eldridge, with older homes situated in the center of the community and newer homes popping up in cul-de-sacs surrounding it. Historic homes closest to downtown date back nearly 100 years, featuring front bay windows and side porches. Large Craftsman-style and colonial houses can be found around parks and schools, displaying attached garages, shuttered windows and dormers. Newer, more spacious ranch styles show brick and stone façades with multiple attached garages, each with its own driveway, and much more expansive estates can be found along the outskirts of the community. Depending on size and location, new builds range from the $300,000s to the $700,000s, with most in the $300,000s and $400,000s. Older homes are generally priced in the $200,000s and $300,000s.

North Scott District is highly rated

Served by the North Scott Community School District, students in Eldridge can attend Edward White Elementary School and North Scott Junior High School to prepare for North Scott High School. Focusing on fine arts, the school regularly has students attend and perform at the International Thespian Festival yearly. “Eldridge is the center of a larger community, and that makes our school district comprised of several smaller towns since Iowa is mainly a farmland,” says Heather Khoury, Member Engagement Coordinator for the Eldridge-North Scott Chamber of Commerce. “That makes Eldridge the cornerstone of the community, and we take that seriously.” North Scott High has an overall Niche grade of B-plus, while Edward White and North Scott Junior High have an A-minus.

U.S. Route 61 makes the connection

Frequent fliers would be happy to know that the Davenport Municipal Airport is located just outside the city near the Davenport Soccer Complex. “A lot of people may not realize this, but we’re in a very convenient location for residents,” says Khoury. “I can get from here to the Chicago suburbs in less than two-and-a-half hours.”

Maloney’s Pub hosts themed nights

Residents stop by the local Hy-Vee Grocery Store for groceries and everyday essentials. At Gyro 600, sizeable portions of Mediterranean and American dishes are served, while Maloney’s Pub is the gathering spot to meet up with friends for dinner and drinks. The Moonlight Chase lights up the night

The Eldridge-North Scott Chamber of Commerce sponsors several events that Eldridge residents can enjoy throughout each year. Residents look forward to the Eldridge Summer Festival, which has plenty of games and activities for the entire family to enjoy. The festival’s Moonlight Chase is a highlight, with the 4-mile course lit up with lights. “There’s live music along the race and everyone gets decked out with glowsticks and fun things like that,” says Khoury. “There are always people who grew up here and moved away, but they come back for the race every year.” In the fall, locals line up for tastings at the city’s Brew Up Wine Down Oktoberfest event, and the Hometown Holiday celebration is always a good time.

The Chamber of Commerce maintains the area

With the area full of business opportunities and beyond, the Chamber ensures that every resident and family feel right at home.
