Economically thriving city close to Denver

Named after a subset of trees common to the area, the city of Englewood sits less than 7 miles south of downtown Denver in Arapahoe County. The city is known for its transit-oriented layout, healthcare and modern urban development. “Englewood is fiercely independent, quirky, gritty, creative and innovative. It has managed to maintain its own identity – a small-town feeling – all while embracing future development,” says Chris Harguth, the City of Englewood’s Director of Communications.

Englewood’s top industries include healthcare, telecommunications and finance. The city’s wellness district is home to the HCA HealthONE Swedish Medical Center and Craig Hospital, employing hundreds of health providers in the area. Other major employers include Liberty Global, Comcast Corporation and Western Union Co.

There are also condos, duplexes and multi-story townhouses. “Englewood offers a wide range of housing options, from well-established neighborhoods like Arapahoe Acres, known for their historical stability, to newly developed multi-family residences in transit-oriented areas,” Harguth says. The median price for single-family homes in the city is around $650,000, while townhouses go for $490,000.
