Most of the single-family homes are ramblers or split-levels built after the 1960s. “Homes are fairly affordable compared to other Everett neighborhoods because they are close to the Paine Field airport,” says Colleen Thorsen, a Seattle native and realtor with John L. Scott who specializes in Everett and Snohomish and Island counties. “However, the community is not affected by the noise as much since it’s not a larger airport. It has most planes coming in from the north.” Prices can range from $450,000 to $700,000 for a five-bedroom home. Gardening is a valued part of the neighborhood culture; the Westmont-Holly Neighborhood Association regularly provides tips and hosts garden tours and seed swaps. These are priced between $750,000 and $900,000. Residents also have close access to major employers. “Westmont is really convenient to Paine Field Airport and Boeing, which is a big employer here,” Thorsen says.
