Tree-lined streets and HOA amenities in Huntington Hills

The winding streets of Huntington Hills are lined with tall pine, aspen and oak trees, just minutes from some of the most popular recreation areas in Fort Collins. Around 6 miles from the 1,900-acre Horsetooth Reservoir on the south side of town, the neighborhood has quiet streets, modern architecture and a homeowners association. “Even though you’re on the opposite side of the city from downtown Fort Collins, you can still drive there in around 15 minutes,” says Todd Sledge, a local broker with The Group Inc. “It’s in an accessible part of town, with College Avenue and Interstate 25 nearby.”

1990s architecture and expansive homes near Fossil Creek Park

Most of the community’s homes were built between the late 1980s and early 2000s, with ranch-style homes, modern traditionals and craftsman builds making up the architectural scene. Houses sit close to neighbors on 6,000 to 10,000-square-foot lots and most have fenced-in backyards. “Prices increase as you head toward the neighborhood’s east side, where there are larger, estate-like homes,” Sledge says. Smaller homes built before 2000 on the west side of Huntington Hills range from $450,000 to $670,000, while larger houses can go for $690,000 to $1.4 million. On Skyway Drive, the Huntington Hills Homeowners Association has a clubhouse, an outdoor pool and tennis courts.

Nearby sports facilities and fishing at Fossil Creek Park

Locals can take the paved path on Huntington Hills Drive to Fossil Creek Park, which has basketball, tennis, baseball and soccer facilities. “It’s one of the biggest draws to the neighborhood,” Sledge says. “You can walk to the park within a few minutes, and some homes back up to its lake.” The expansive park’s lake is where anglers can fish for crappie and bluegill. There is also a skate park, playground, dog park and roller rink. The 18-hole, public Southridge Golf Course is across the street. The Horsetooth Reservoir is the largest and most popular outdoor recreation area in the Fort Collins area. In the summer months, outdoor lovers can be found swimming, paddle boarding and tubing, and the surrounding land is full of campsites, picnic areas and hiking trails. Whetstone Climbing is one of the city’s two indoor climbing gyms and has hundreds of top rope and bouldering routes.
