Houses sit close to neighbors on 6,000 to 10,000-square-foot lots and most have fenced-in backyards. “Prices increase as you head toward the neighborhood’s east side, where there are larger, estate-like homes,” Sledge says. Smaller homes built before 2000 on the west side of Huntington Hills range from $450,000 to $670,000, while larger houses can go for $690,000 to $1.4 million. Locals can take the paved path on Huntington Hills Drive to Fossil Creek Park, which has basketball, tennis, baseball and soccer facilities. “It’s one of the biggest draws to the neighborhood,” Sledge says. “You can walk to the park within a few minutes, and some homes back up to its lake.” The expansive park’s lake is where anglers can fish for crappie and bluegill. There is also a skate park, playground, dog park and roller rink. The 18-hole, public Southridge Golf Course is across the street. The Horsetooth Reservoir is the largest and most popular outdoor recreation area in the Fort Collins area. In the summer months, outdoor lovers can be found swimming, paddle boarding and tubing, and the surrounding land is full of campsites, picnic areas and hiking trails.
