An active suburban community with access to vast outdoor amenities
Outdoor recreation is a part of life in North Triangle, where well-kept sidewalks and direct access to the Rivergreenway hiking and biking trail encourage an active lifestyle. “It’s kind of a mellow area, but it’s active. People use that greenway like crazy,” says TJ Steele, the owner of Tom Steele Tire, a shop that was opened in North Triangle in 1982 specifically because of the neighborhood’s location. “It was a central area,” he says. “Not really downtown, but it’s close to downtown.” This largely residential neighborhood is filled with older homes, many of which sit on modest lots. A few small businesses dot the streets, but residents will have to head out of town for daily needs. Fortunately, U.S. Route 27 runs through the neighborhood, so travel to nearby Fort Wayne is easy. Glenbrook Square, a shopping mall with dozens of retailers and eateries, is also just 2 miles away.
A well-established neighborhood filled with four squares and Cape Cods
Many houses are on modest, lightly wooded lots. Foursquares with dormers and Cape Cods with gabled roofs are among the most popular architectural styles here. Homebuyers can also find the occasional Colonial Revival, bungalow, cottage or ranch-style home. Most have two to three bedrooms and sell for between $122,000 and $172,000.
