Glenmoor
Well-kept homes in high demand
Low-slung ranch-style homes with paved driveways and two-car garages populate most Glenmoor streets. A few two-story homes with porches are scattered amongst them. The generous yards are landscaped neatly with grassy lawns or drought-tolerant succulents. Homes stay on the market an average of only 15 days, compared to the national average of 44. The median price for a single-family home is $1.8 million. They range from $1.2 million for a three bedroom to $3 million for a larger home with four to six bedrooms.Highly rated schools central to community appeal
Kids can start at Glenmoor Elementary and continue at Centerville Middle School, which Niche gives A ratings. Washington High School also gets an A rating. Its stadium hosts all the Fremont high school sports teams.Getting around town and the East Bay is a breeze
Glenmoor is located at the center of Fremont, so companies like Meta, Tesla and ThermoFisher located in the city and surrounding areas are easily accessible for commuters. “Fremont’s having a lot of high-tech companies come in, so people don’t have to go too far,” says Wong. The AC Transit bus service covers the Glenmoor area, with stops all along Mowry Avenue and Fremont Boulevard. With Glenmoor sitting right off Interstate 880, Silicon Valley and all points on the East Bay are accessible as well. San Jose is 18 miles to the south and Oakland 25 miles north. San Jose Mineta International Airport is about 19 miles south. Kaiser Hospital is about 2 miles away.Parks near Glenmoor offer sports facilities, green space and lake activities
Meyer Park centers the neighborhood and offers a playground, tennis courts, pool and plenty of green space for community events. Brightly-colored playgrounds and ball courts at nearby Dusterberry Park are also a draw. A short drive away, Fremont’s Central Park, featuring dog parks, ball fields and the 80-acre Lake Elizabeth offer views of the Mission Peak Hills.Variety of shopping and dining options surround the neighborhood
Glenmoor has a few casual restaurants in the southern corner of the neighborhood, and is surrounded by many other shopping and dining options. “Glenmoor is right in the center of town,” says Tony Bruno, a Realtor with Coldwell Banker, who has been selling real estate in the Fremont area since 1988. “It’s right by Fremont Hub so there are restaurants and every kind of food under the sun at our doorstep.” Jack’s Brewing Company, Ohana Hawaiian BBQ and Tata Teahouse, selling a variety of slushes, smoothies and specialty teas, are among the options at Fremont Hub. The shopping center also includes clothing stores, PetSmart, Target and a Trader Joe’s.
