An active suburb near major parks

About 30 miles southeast of downtown Phoenix, San Tan Village is a haven for outdoor enthusiasts with new homes built in the mid-2000s. “People here take advantage of the parks and are always out hiking, playing pickleball or on their bikes,” says Janine Igliane with Keller Williams Realty, who has sold more than 400 properties in the area. “There are so many outdoor activities within 15 minutes from all the homes.” Discovery District Park borders the neighborhood to the southeast and offers 48 acres of recreation, while Crossroads District Park is a 93-acre outdoor destination just a few blocks north.

Townhouses and new single-family houses

Single-family homes are typically two-level Mediterranean builds from the early 2000s costing between $420,000 and $800,000. “With it being a newer community, a lot of the houses are in excellent shape,” says Igliane. “Many buyers are looking to settle down and raise a family in the area.” Houses sit on quiet residential roads with little traffic. Driveways provide private off-street parking, and wide sidewalks are good for exercise and dog walking. Traditional grass lawns exist even in this desert climate, although some properties have rock landscaping instead. Homes are close together, and lot sizes are under a quarter of an acre. San Tan Village also has a handful of townhouses, costing between $400,000 and $515,000. Homes near Highway 202 will experience some noise from traffic.
