Brand Boulevard anchors City Center, serving as the main thoroughfare and commercial hub of Glendale. This downtown district offers over a dozen walkable blocks of shopping, entertainment and dining. “The landmark in Glendale is Raffi’s Place, a Persian restaurant. There's a steakhouse and a lot of nice restaurants there,” says broker associate Albert Babayan, who works with JohnHart Real Estate and has over two decades of experience in the area. More eateries include the family-run Armenian spot Mini Kabob and the modern dim sum restaurant Din Tai Fung. The Americana at Brand is an outdoor lifestyle center that offers upscale stores, including Gucci and Tiffany & Co. Glendale Galleria, a more traditional indoor mall, has familiar brands like Apple and Macy’s. On the east side of the neighborhood, Glendale Fashion Center has big-box stores and a Ralphs supermarket.
City Center residents have the luxury of nearby shopping at the Glendale Galleria.

Iconic Glendale attractions like Alex Theatre and the Museum of Neon Art

Centered around its downtown retail district, most of the neighborhood’s housing consists of condos, from midrise to high-rise buildings. Many of them have community pools, courtyards and gyms maintained by HOAs. Some of the more upscale options feature panoramic views of Los Angeles or the Verdugo Mountains. Condos range from $450,000 to $1 million. In the northeast part of City Center, there are a few streets of single-family homes, lined with magnolia and palm trees. The yards have enough space for garden beds, often landscaped with boxwood bushes and agave plants. The architecture includes Craftsman bungalows, Mediterranean homes and Tudor houses. Bungalows range from $1.2 million to $1.3 million, while Mediterranean and Tudor homes range from $1.3 million to $1.6 million. Homes in the area stay on the market for 25 days on average, compared to the national average of 46 days. “We have very low inventory right now for purchases,” Babayan says. “Glendale is a very popular city for people to move in.”

Although City Center doesn’t have any outdoor recreation, there are multiple parks nearby. Glendale Heritage Garden offers gym equipment, a playground and picnic tables less than mile east of the community. Maple Park, about a mile southeast of the neighborhood, has a tennis court, walking paths and a community center, which houses an indoor basketball court. Only a few miles west of City Center lies Griffith Park, one of the most popular and famous parks in the country. It's renowned for attractions like the Los Angeles Zoo and Griffith Observatory, plus the park’s hiking trails feature iconic views of the Los Angeles skyline and the Hollywood sign.

A 10-mile drive to downtown Los Angeles and more transportation
Via Interstate 5, downtown Los Angeles is about 10 miles away. The neighborhood has jobs close to home with major employers, including Walt Disney Imagineering. For public transit, the area is served by a Metrolink train station as well as the Metro and Beeline bus systems. The closest major airport is Hollywood Burbank Airport, located about 10 miles away.
Public transportation goes through City Center often, connecting to the rest of Los Angeles County.
