Living close to the bay and beach
Ensley is a stone’s throw from Escambia Bay, offering residents a peaceful place to live among the Florida Panhandle’s natural beauty and eclectic attractions, while also being just 18 miles away from Pensacola Beach. “It’s an older area, but it is still in a very central location,” says Andrea Herring, a Realtor with Keller Williams Realty, who has lived in the area her entire life. “You’re close to the hospital, airport and the beach.” HCA Florida West Hospital and the Pensacola International Airport are both major employers in the area. Along with commuters and outdoor enthusiasts, the area attracts military families since it has several naval bases nearby, according to Herring.
Right off of main thoroughfares, Ensley is easy to get where you want to go.

I've lived here my whole life. After traveling to different places across the country, I've realized it isn't where I see myself in 5 years. I'm not a huge fan of the beach, which is Pensacola's main pull, and there isn't much to do here other than that. It's not my cup of tea. That being said, it's not a bad place to live. If you enjoy the beach, it's wonderful, and it's a fairly quiet place to raise children, depending on the immediate area.

The beach isn't too far away, and there's always something to do.

I love living in Ensley. I have lived here off and on throughout the years. This area is growing so quickly. One of the best parts of Ensley is how close it is to everything in Pensacola. It seems as if it is 20 minutes to the beach, to UWF, to grocery stores, to every restaurant you can think of, and new places are opening every day. The best part is its only 5 minutes from to the closest tennis courts. I feel safe here and I enjoy my neighbors who are mostly educators. The change that I would like to see the most is sidewalks through more of the neighbors. As I enjoy my evening stroll it gives me time to reflect on my future in college and growing into a productive member of society. As Ensley continues to grow and prosper it gives me hope for the future.
