Land open for development

Spring Lake is a tiny, rural town in Hancock County with about 220 residents and peaceful views in every direction. It’s located 20 miles east of Indianapolis and has a decidedly peaceful and roomy vibe. But change is coming to Hancock County. As Realtor Lisa Jines-Plessinger, with Christie's of Indiana, and a real estate agent for more than 25 years explains, “New business growth is already making an impact in Spring Lake. With the opening of an Amazon fulfillment center in 2019 and the planned opening in 2024 of a new Indiana University Health medical center, there’s increased excitement from potential buyers in Spring Lake. What’s important to understand is that Spring Lake is one of the last suburbs east of Indianapolis where buyers can find more than an acre to build on, if that’s what they want.” Spring Lake is notable for its natural assets, including Sugar Creek and man-made Spring Lake. The lake is private and accessible only by residents. Homes sit on 2-10 acres and are spaced with plenty of room between one another. Farms and undeveloped land offer a palpable sense of peace and quiet. At the same time, buyers will find more single-family homes for sale than farms or land.
