The Greensboro Urban Loop makes commutes easy
The Greensboro Urban Loop borders the western edge of Hilltop, making it very convenient for commuters. “This is such a good location,” says Danielle White, a Broker with Heritage Realty who has sold several homes in the area. “It’s just minutes from downtown Greensboro, and it puts you right near the Urban Loop, which can take you anywhere in the city.” Access to a vehicle is a must, however, as there aren’t any bus stops close to the neighborhood.Majestic oaks surround Hilltop homes
Unmarked backroads and wooded streets lend an air of privacy and seclusion to the neighborhood, despite its proximity to the city. Some parts of Hilltop boast larger lots that stretch up to a full acre, while most homes in the area are situated on about a quarter acre of land. The housing in the community, mostly from the 1970s and 1980s, is surrounded by majestic oaks and pines. Ranch-style homes are a common sight, offering ample square footage and price tags ranging from $150,000 to $265,000.Highly-rated schools prep students for success
Millis Road Elementary School and Jamestown Middle School both have overall Niche grades of B, while Lucy Ragsdale High School has an overall Niche grade of A-minus. According to GreatSchools, the school scores above average in college preparation readiness and was the first in Guilford County to receive accreditation from the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.Scenic strolls along the lake in Hester Park
The closest park is the eight-acre Random Woods Park, which features a small playground and a basketball court. A day of fishing is on offer at Hester Park, where local anglers can bring their rods and cast a line at one of the four piers. The six-acre lake makes for a scenic setting for strolls and there are 13 outdoor fitness stations at the park for working out. Sand volleyball and casual tennis matches are other popular activities at the park, with 11 courts available.Fettuccine and jazz at Giovanni's
Hilltop is close to several shopping centers, including the Four Seasons Town Centre. The mall has familiar brands like JCPenney, American Eagle, Hollister and Dillard’s. Wendover Place is just three miles west for additional retail choices, like Target, Kohl’s and Old Navy. When locals need to stock their pantries, there’s a Harris Teeter just over a mile south at the Adam’s Farm shopping center. Giovanni’s Italian Restaurant is a popular spot for dining out, serving classics like fettuccine alfredo and chicken parmigiana. The restaurant frequently has live music and holds an annual Wine Fest. Wendover Avenue is buzzing with even more eateries where locals can grab some grub.
