Willow Oaks is an established suburb in Hampton that is voted as one of the best neighborhoods in the city. The history of Willow Oaks is reflected in its long-standing architecture and community-oriented atmosphere. Down Shelby Avenue is a BMX track, and the fenced-in areas at Ridgeway Park and Bark Park are perfect for letting your furry friend run off their leash. Four miles north is Grandview Nature Preserve with 578 acres of marshes, woodlands and beaches. Students may start at Samuel P. Langley Elementary, which gets a B-plus from Niche, before transitioning to Syms Middle with a B. Upperclassmen attending Kecoughtan High, which also earns a B-plus, can apply to one of its four academies, including the Governor’s STEM Academy and the Performing Arts Academy.
