A park nearby, and Montana's wilderness close by
Lincoln Park is in the neighborhood, and while it’s a convenient place to walk dogs or take the kids to play at the playground, most people in North East head out of the city to different natural attractions like fishing on the Missouri River, hiking Mount Helena, or driving 100 miles to the Bob Marshall Wilderness to camp out and hunt. “That’s the thing about Helena,” says Mendenhall. “You’ve got all the outdoor recreation opportunities, you’re within 30 minutes of everything.”

Alive at Five is another popular summer event. Held in Last Chance Gulch on Wednesday nights from June to August, a variety of local bands and musicians perform at Women’s Park and the Lewis & Clark Tap Room.
