Coastal Hercules community along San Pablo Bay
New Pacific is a small residential neighborhood on the eastern shoreline of San Pablo Bay. Before its initial development in the early 2000s, this coastal community was previously anchored by an oil refinery. Once the refinery shut down in 1995, the city of Hercules, needing funds to prop up its tax base, sold the land to developers. Now today, New Pacific has become a desirable waterfront community known for its idyllic, well-maintained housing landscape. “It’s a really nice neighborhood that used to be mostly flat commercial land,” says Guillean Arradaza, a longtime Realtor servicing clients across the Bay Area for Kinetic Real Estate. “Now it is filled with new homes.” Located 20 miles north of Oakland and 26 miles from San Francisco, it allows for easy commuting access. “It’s a good center point in Contra Costa County,” Arradaza says. “It’s a convenient location for commutes to San Francisco, and I mention San Francisco a lot because many of the people who live in the area work there.”
New Pacific is located directly in front of the San Pablo Bay.
