Hollister offers residential living on Table Rock Lake
Hollister is Branson's residential sister-city. “Branson is all commercial, and Hollister is much more residential, so everyone who works in Branson prefers to live in Hollister,” says Realtor Parker Stone of the Keller Williams Tri-Lakes team, who’s been selling around Branson for over 20 years. The town is on Table Rock Lake, one of the most popular destinations in the Ozark Mountains. Between Branson and the lake, the area can feel touristy. However, Hollister is one of the few spots that isn’t tailored to visitors. Residents enjoy suburban and lakefront life without much busyness, but they’re still close to the activity. “Downtown Hollister kind of shares the area with downtown Branson,” Stone says. “So, you can easily get to restaurants and stuff on either side.” And, of course, residents can easily get on the lake for days of watersports and enjoying the Ozark wilderness.
Downing Street is the main commercial hub for Hollister residents.
Vistors and residents alike visit Big Cedar Lodge for entertainment and lodging overlooking Table Rock Lake.

Boat slips and scenic trails at Table Rock State Park
In 1959, the Army Corps of Engineers completed Table Rock Dam, therefore creating Table Rock Lake, with over 800 miles of mountain-lined shore. Locals not on the waterfront can access the lake from Table Rock State Park. The park’s marina has plenty of covered docks and a boat launch, where boaters embark on days of fishing, watersports and cruising up and down the lake. Table Rock State Park also has campgrounds and wooded trails. The White River Valley Trail System also has trailheads in the state park. These hilly wooded routes are popular with hikers and mountain bikers. Locals can also utilize the amenities at Big Cedar Lodge, one of the country’s premier wilderness resorts, 8 miles south.
Chad A Fuqua Memorial Park is located next to the Hollister City Hall.

Dine in downtown Hollister or downtown Branson
Grocery stores and retailers are within a short drive of most homes. There are supermarkets like Country Mart and home supply stores like Menards in the plazas around the interchange of U.S. Route 65 and Industrial Park Drive. Downtown Hollister's main drag, Downing Street, is made to look like an old English village. The Tudor-style façades hold restaurants like Downing Street Pour House, which is inside the Ye Olde English Inn. Downtown Branson is a short drive north. It has many more restaurants and bars, including local spots and tourism-focused chains. Branson’s Theatre District is about 5 miles northwest of downtown Hollister. It’s famous for its country music-themed attractions and entertainment venues.

Work is a few minutes away in Branson or at Big Cedar Lodge
Most locals live in Hollister because they work in Branson. Commuters can get there in minutes on U.S. Route 65 or state Route 76. Branson is one of the Ozarks’ biggest tourist destinations, so hospitality and entertainment are its major industries. Cox Medical Center Branson is the nearest hospital. Big Cedar Lodge is the other big hospitality employer on this end of the lake. It’s one of the premier wilderness resorts in the country, just 8 miles south. Branson Airport is the nearest airline outlet, less than 10 miles south. It’s a small airport, offering a few regional flights. Springfield-Branson National Airport is a larger airport in Springfield, 50 miles north.
