Mix of old and new construction near George Bush Park

Weekend bike rides along Brays Bayou, shopping for fresh produce at the Farmers Market or indulging in Sunday brunch at Hungry's are just a few of the activities enjoyed by locals in Briar Village. This amenity-filled neighborhood is adjacent to the expansive George Bush Park and Houston's bustling Energy Corridor, just 20 miles from downtown. Briar Village's homes have sprung up since the late 1960s and offer proximity to public parks and centers for shopping, dining, and entertainment. "Lots of people move here from Katy for a little more space," says Paul Holub, a Realtor and Owner of Tradition's Realty and resident. "It's great and conveniently located near highways, the Energy Corridor, and Memorial while still providing a sense of safety."

Locals gather at Westheimer Parkway for sports leagues and events such as Summer Movie Nights and 5k runs. Golfers can tee off at the Royal Oaks Country Club's Fred Couples Signature Golf Course, and One for All Sports provides batting cages. "Living here is a big bang for your buck. You got the pool, the playground and the swim team, which are a big deal here with the kids." Holub says. The Briar Village pool is residents-only, where swim teams like the Briars Flyers and Junior Flyers practice.
