Where the sidewalk ends in Southeast Indy
Poplar Grove is where the suburban streets of southeastern Indianapolis begin giving way to Indiana’s lush farmland. And until the past couple of decades, the vibe was decidedly more rural than suburban despite being inside of Indianapolis city limits. “Newer developments are popping up in addition to the more established mid-century homes,” says Susan Forrest, Realtor with United Real Estate Indianapolis. But even as Poplar Grove grows, you needn't travel far to experience the sights and scents of rural Indiana thanks to the nearby Marion County Fairgrounds.
