The elementary and middle schools receive a C from Niche, while the high school is rated a B overall. Warren Central High has approximately 3,800 students with a student-teacher ratio of 17-to-1. The school is mainly known for its outstanding athletics program, which has won state championships in basketball, track, wrestling and football. Indy Island Raymond Park is an aquatic center that is popular with residents. The aquatic center features a 15-foot-tall slide that twists and turns until it dumps into the watery depths of the pool. For little ones, there is a shallower pool that ranges from 0-3 feet deep. There is also a lap pool and spa towards the back of the center for those who want a good workout or need to relax their mind. For more recreation and to bond with neighbors, residents hit the Indianapolis World Sports Park. The 46-acre park features a playground, basketball court and athletic fields perfect for a game of cricket, soccer and other field sports. The Marion County Fairgrounds is just south of the neighborhood. In the summer, residents enjoy the Marion County Fair, which features rodeos and livestock shows. Residents have their pick of great local eateries. Pasquale's Pizza & Pasta has been a staple in the community since 1956. From pepperoni and Italian sausage pizza to stuffed breadsticks, regulars expect hot and fresh pizza with a crust that is just right. Tacos A La Diablos is mainly known for its tacos marinated in chili sauce. This family-owned restaurant also serves traditional Mexican fare, like enchiladas and quesadillas. The Sombrero Taco Salad is topped with beef, chicken, shrimp, onions, tomatoes and sour cream. Residents have two Aldi locations nearby for groceries, one to the east and one to the west, each on Washington Street. There is also a Walmart northeast of the neighborhood on East Washington Street for more groceries and other household items.An easy commute on I-465
Raymond Park residents have an easy time getting around the greater Indianapolis area, with Interstate 465 to the west, Interstate 74 just south of the neighborhood and Interstate 70 nearby. The drive into downtown is about 13 miles using I-465 and I-70. Indianapolis International Airport is about 20 miles west using I-465. Several bus stops along Washington Street in the neighborhood's northern end make it easy for residents to use public transit.
