A luxury gated community in a secluded part of Irvine
Hidden Canyon, about 7 miles southeast of central Irvine, is a 24/7 guard-gated community of over 250 multimillion-dollar homes. The name is befitting, as the development is relatively secluded, with only one road in, off Lake Forest Drive. "It's very desirable: a luxury community with very high-end homes," says Adel Hamad, a real estate agent with Lifetime Realty & Investment. "It's a top choice for executives, entrepreneurs and anyone seeking Californian luxury style." The Saddleback Valley setting of Orange County's hills includes views of the Santa Ana Mountains. The City of Irvine's Open Space Preserve and the Laguna Laurel Ecological Reserve surround the area.
Hidden Canyon homes were built starting in 2016
Construction by homebuilder Toll Brothers started in 2016. The average home size is about 5,200 square feet; some are reminiscent of Mediterranean or French villas. There is a limited supply of homes for sale in this sought-after area. In the 12 months before February 2025, sales ranged from $5.7 million to $8.3 million. Though some homes have private pools, there's also a 5-star resort-style pool with a spa, cabanas and a clubhouse. Monthly homeowners association fees in 2025 were $550.
The CAP Index crime score is 1 out of 10, compared to the national average of 4. There is a potential risk of flash floods in the area with heavy rainfall.
