From the outdoors to religious activities, there's so much to do in Kemp Mill
Kemp Mill is a neighborhood of creekside walkways, busy playgrounds and community centers, and it's known for having an active Jewish community. More than a half dozen synagogues sit within the boundaries of this Washington, D.C. suburb, making getting to temple relatively easy. “Orthodox Jews don't drive on the Sabbath, and tend to settle in walkable neighborhoods near synagogues, family members and friends,” says Jules Szanton, president of the Kemp Mill Civic Association. “Kemp Mill has five Orthodox synagogues, as well as a network of sidewalks, pedestrian cut-throughs and hiking trails which are well-loved by community members of all religious backgrounds.”
