Kimball's location along the Tennessee River Valley and Cumberland Plateau
As the Tennessee River Valley cuts through the Cumberland Plateau, a series of valleys and ridges connects the low-lying riverfront to the towering plateau. About 30 miles west of Chattanooga, the small town of Kimball includes a small downtown along the valley floor, plus a gated community atop the plateau. The area attracts residents with easy access to Interstate 24 and a wider array of housing styles and price points compared to the larger adjacent communities of South Pittsburg and Jasper.

Traditional homes downtown and mountain estates in Jasper Highlands
Homebuyers in Kimball choose between its small downtown area and a rural gated community. “Jasper Highlands is one of the premier gated communities in the area here,” says Jessica Wright, a Realtor with Re/Max Realty South who specializes in Marion County, Tennessee. “It’s really increased the growth of the area. There are only 500 homes there that are built and lived in, but it’s just a third of the way built out.” Homes in this area start from the mid-$600,000s to nearly $1 million, while large estates with mountain vistas can go from $1 million to almost $4 million, based on size and amenities. Downtown, homes from the middle of the 20th century line the narrow roads off Main Street, often in ranch or traditional style, typically selling from the upper $100,000s to the mid-$400,000s. Newer builds can go from around $500,000 to the mid-$600,000s. Land is also for sale within Jasper Highlands, generally selling for $100,000 per acre.
