Lakeshore Park is perched high atop the Tennessee River, offering sweeping vistas of the Smoky Mountains and glimpses of the city skyline. With nearly 200 acres of gentle hills, walking trails, event spaces, sports fields and playgrounds, the park promises something special for every visitor. A top spot for weddings, four individual venues are available for ceremonies. Lakeshore is also home to several area youth sports programs and sports complexes. Shopping and dining reign supreme in Bearden. The West Town Mall is the hub of activity on the west side. Featuring more than 150 stores, over 40 of which are exclusive to the Knoxville area, West Town is the premier shopping destination. Traveling east along Kingston Pike, locals will find restaurants, such as the brand-new eatery Bistro By The Tracks, which offers an extensive and diverse wine list for a casual yet elegant experience. Art galleries, local gift boutiques and high-end retailers can all be found in Bearden. Less than 10 miles from Downtown Knoxville, Bearden is a quick and easy drive to the city. Residents have highways and surface streets available for commuting, and most residents travel by car. On the neighborhood's north side is Interstate 40, traveling east to west across the city of Knoxville. Running through the center of Bearden is Kingston Pike, Bearden’s main artery and hub for shopping, dining and entertainment. The city also has many greenway projects designed for pedestrians and bikers that are making their way through the neighborhood.
